Kristin Vollmer has been training in ballet since the age of 3, as well as jazz, Graham and Horton-based modern, tap, contemporary and hip hop. She has spent the majority of her Professional Career with The Joel Hall Dancers in Chicago, IL, performing Joel Hall's unique Urban Jazz Dance Style. She has also performed with Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre, Inaside Chicago Dance, Chicago Dance Crash, in Bollywood film Dhoom 3, and across South Korea in an USO tour. Through these opportunities she has had the honor to work with choreographers Joel Hall, Paul Sanasardo, Jim Morrow, Harrison McEldowney, Wilfredo Rivera, Jessica Deahr, William Gill and Jarrett Kelly. She is currently a Dancer for the Joel Hall Dancers as well as a Teaching Artist for Joffrey Ballet, Design Dance, Simantikos, Dance on Broadway and Studio North Academy of Performing Arts.
A lifetime of dedication to the arts
Prior to her recent position as Program Manager of Joel Hall Dancers & Center, Kristin served as Co-Artistic Director of The Joel Hall Dancers Youth Company. Thru this experience she learned her greatest passion aside from performing is training and choreographing for young dancers. While Program Manager at JHDC she relaunched the Adult Scholarship Program, providing Professional training to young adults for only a fraction of the price. She also earned The Joel Hall Dancers their 2nd consecutive contract with Urban Gateways, by writing The Roots of Black Dance in America which is performed throughout Chicago and Suburban schools. She currently shares her passion with young dancers throughout the city and suburbs, teaching 5 days a week in both the Public School system and studio settings.
In addition to teaching, and her outreach work with JHDC, Kristin has worked as stage manager for a number of shows for JHDC, Praize Productions, and Kenwood Ballet.
